Tour reports are always short and to the point, as what goes on tour stays on tour. Here we are posing with the wonderful
lads of the Riviera CC who we first played in 2006 (they were called Cabris CC then) . We flew out on Friday 16 (BA Heathrow) and those that arrived early took a cultural trip to Antibes. Tip: the train back takes ten minutes and costs 3 euros. We stayed in 4 apartments called the Croisette Oasis. Quite near the Croisette itself, handy for a supermarket and a caff for brekkie and quite palatable with little courtyards where we drank cheap Port and smoked fags.
We played two teams, Riviera CC (17th) and Beausoleil CC (18th). Both matches were played at Saint-Vallier-de-Thiey in
the Alpes Maritimes. The coach ride took between 45-60 minutes each way and went via the lovely town of Grasse. The
weather on Saturday was lovely, Sunday however it rained cats and dogs and we essentially played in rain.. but it’s an all
weather pitch and just fine.
So that was it really, the match reports are linked below, the hangovers are shrugged off and it’s onwards, upwards as
Captain Padders bows out and Captain CK1 bows in The party: Smutty (leader), CK, Padders, SteveO, YM, Daveski, Arsey, Rog, Tuffers, Delilah, Nelson, Nurdler and Dozy. As we were thirteen they brought us an egg to the dinner table for good luck..
