2013 Tour to Estonia
We of course go by the maxim, what goes on tour, stays on tour, so this report is brief and to the point. We flew out on Friday 13th September 2013 which was an omen for our cricketing performance but not for the fun of the tour, which was just brilliant. Unfortunately one player who shall remain nameless missed the flight but the rest of us plus several stag parties etc crammed ourselves into EasyJets finest transport and zoomed off. As to the cricket, we played two T20 games on the Saturday and a 40 over game on the Sunday. We got mullered in all these games. The venue was the Hipodroom, a trotting track just outside of town with an excellent Astroturf wicket. Also, as you can see from the photos, the weather was incredibly nice. Our hosts, the Estonian Cricket Association, could not have been nicer and more welcoming and we were all agreed this was one of our best tours ever. Badmo got a ton and CK shot past 600 runs for the season. Most of our bowlers went for at least one six an over and we dropped too many catches to count. The only real downside was Young Spillane forcing us to go to a bar that specialized in 24/7 Depeche Mode. Stelios’s boys delivered us safely back on time and on budget replete with cheap fags, appalling hangovers and a sense of having had a great time.
