2012 Belgrade

I'm pleased to announce that next year's Salix CC Tour will be to Belgrade, Serbia, on the weekend of May 5th - 6th (May Bank Holiday weekend).

We've got games lined up against local opposition, the weather should be good, and they come highly recommended as tour hosts by our hosts last year in Hungary. I've been to Belgrade and it's a nice place, with good cafes and bars, a fairly compact centre, and friendly locals.

Here's a short q&a on the tour:

Do they play cricket in Serbia? Quite a lot actually, see here. You'll note that one of our regular opponents, the Quokkas, went on tour there this year

Is there lots of nightlife / bars? There's lots going on in the centre of Belgrade, and it's not too expensive. See here

How do we get there? There are daily flights from Heathrow, and every other day from Luton.

Given it's quite near to Budapest, will any of our hosts from last year show up in Belgrade? Funny you should ask that, but Adrian Zador, our host last year, in considering joining us in Belgrade for the weekend.

Will our captain have to give a press conference? Funnily enough, it may happen, it did to the Quokkas... (please note that unlike them our fixtures will be in Belgrade and not require 3 hour coach trips)
