Fathers and sons, all welcome

In the long and glorious history of our team some of the players have brought their dads along to play. And generally the senior members have done better than the children, it has to be said. Notwithstanding the fact that some of the regular team are old enough to be these peoples dads, dads, it's always an honour to pair up the heredital gene. In fact Cat Stevens even wrote a song about it..

Pairing 1 Dateline Presidents XI game, 1996.

Rodders pere et fils teamed up to open the innings, but sadly Rodbert fils was out for a duck (nothing new there then) .  Rodbert pere lasted quite a long time without scoring many, but retired.

Pairing 2 Dateline French Tour 2002 versus Eymet

This game saw the blond wonder Mr Rogers team up with his dad. El Senor Rogers Senior batted first and got a creditable 21 before being caught. Rogers junior (hungover..) lasted just two balls before being caught for 1.

Pairing 3 Dateline Presidents XI game, 2002. and again Presidents Game 2003

The 2002 game saw the family Bush turn up a little late, and Geoff, the more athletic if slightly more mature patriarch had time to watch the seed of his loins trot out, get a duck and trot straight back before he went to a reasonable 7. Being better than most of the team that day. The 2003 game saw Bush Jnr wearing too big shoes.

Pairing 4 Dateline Captains Day, 2006

.Like the 2002 event, the Roberts, pere et fils turned up a little late, and a little the worse for wear in the case of Roberts Jr. Peter (a 1000 wickets in league matches we understand) got a wicket and a run too.  Roberts Jr managed a few more and remained upright throughout the game, no mean feat in itself.
