2. FOOTBALL offers the world clichés; RUGBY produces facial deformity; HOCKEY provides an acceptable outlet for psychotic violence; CRICKET alone breeds myths. More quotes here.

Capn Ginger celebrates with a crisp
Losing the toss Captain Gingers boys were out on the field and almost immediately Jesus struck as a run out mix up saw the TT’s openers both at one end and then he had the other opener plumb. However then the stranger appeared and he and the number 3 proceeded to muller the bowling around the ground, lost ball, one on roof etc, you get the picture. Three dropped catches later a stonking slip catch from the Nurdler gave us the breakthrough and it was reasonably plain sailing towards tea, punctuated by a great spell from Baldrick and a miscount of overs by the Captain that saw him forced to bowl a lame old sciatica suffering bus pass owner for an over. No matter, 168, a do-able target.
But soft, the TTs opening bowling attack was swinging it like Pinner housewives and the Salix openers had a bit of a torrid time just not getting out. Still, opening attack blunted, the middle order came good with great whacking from ex Capn Ben, Jesus and especially the Dazzler to keep us on the 5 runs an over and see us to victory with 2 overs to spare.
Quote of the day: when the security cameras were pointed out, one the TTs claimed that he would have to call his agent to negotiate an increased fee.
All in all a great team effort by the Salixites for Captain Ginger: everyone did their bit, we didn’t panic and thus we conclude our first win.
Random note: as we freezing in west London we understand the Japanese national cricket team (37th in the world) were turning out down the road at Turnham Green, just 150 years after the Turnham lads last international – http://www.turnhamgreencc.org/

Thanks Nurdler!
Dear Old Bloke probably not as long as its going to take Chelsea to win the European Champions League!
Just a word for Cap'n Ginger, who kept himself on while the tonking was at its height. It would have been easy to take himself off but he cut his pace down and slowed the run rate then took what was probably the vital wicket. 1 for 57 doesn't really tell the story.
Yo, Steve-O, how long before you actually surpass my bowling record. Will Gordon Brown still be PM? Will we be paying match fees in Euros? Will fags be less than a tenner a packet?
