The Team
Match report by Lottie Shaw aged 8

The wind was blowing, the balls were flying, the wickets were being taken, the joy of it all.

It was Salix Cricket Club and once again the kids were enjoying the match. The wind was cold but no one minded. Salix were to bat first. Then suddenly a wicket was taken time for a new batsman. At this stage the wickets were taken, much to Salix's disappointment. To my amazement Chris came in and didn't go, his amazing run of 69 was worth it. Meanwhile daddy [Ben] at four and others were watching on the sidelines looking forward to Oli, my brother to bat at number 8, was this his chance to shine? He did us proud, even though he was out after two balls for 0 runs, but not bad for an 11 year old! After all the effort Salix came up with a total of 208-9 after 35 overs.

Time for tea, horaaa [hurrah]! The team break had the most yummy things ever!

Wow time to field, will Salix beat the Rotten Livers? Salix had a great bowling team, the bowlers were: Chris 4 wickets; Stuart 2 wickets; Tony Williams 2 wickets; and Deepack and David 1 wicket each. With amazing bowlers and fielders, the Rotten Livers got 194 all out. A great win for Salix, the top 3 most runs scored for Salix were: David 39; Chris 69 and Tony Williams 27. The whole team was happy and the win was great.

Adam's bowling certainly doesn't win matches...

Catches win matches. Tim under a skier (once again) and Arsey in the deep. 1/1. Marvellous.

Brilliant idea! A piece Kunal would have been proud of!

One day, Lottie tells us, she will be a famous journalist and this is her first professional piece. As such, it will no doubt be referred to in her autobiography.

For the record, we offered payment in money, however remuneration via a mixture of crisps and chocolate was preferred (all declared to the Taxman)
