Er 4 plus 7 equals 18 right
This was one of those matches where your reporter is spoilt for headlines "Rog makes debut as Salix Skipper"; "Stu returns to form with bat and ball"; or of course that perennial favourite "Salix slump to heavy defeat".

Played on the far side of the Harlington square the two teams shared nearly 400 runs on a lightening outfield. The Unavoidables batted first and made steady, if not spectacular, progress and were looking like they would post a score in the region of 180. However, the sixth wicket pair put on 70 odd with their number 7 bludgeoning his way to 48 in about 20 balls; taking CK's and Steve-O's figures with him. Honourable mentions go to Stu (6-2-26-2), Good Tony (5-1-17-1) and especially Roger who clearly took this captaincy malarkey to heart with figures of 6-0-14-1. Ben stood up to everyone other than CK and took a couple of good catches behind the stumps, as did Stu diving to cling on at first slip.

So at tea the oppo had posted 213 and looking at our batting line up Davski declared us doomed. Well we put up a fight with the top 4 all getting starts but ultimately his prediction was correct. And so it fell to our bowlers of the day to turn their hand to batting and Stu (60 not out) and Rog (27 not out) shared a stand of 86 and gave the scorecard a patina of respectability.

Thanks again to Shaw Minor for subbing for a late Arsey and again right at the end when one of the Unavoidables had to leave the playing area after fielding the ball with his mouth… ouch!

A good day only spoilt by the cyclists in C London causing everyone to leave their homes on Thursday afternoon in the hope of getting to the match on time.

So it's one all against the Unavoidables and unlike 2011 (when we played through the rain) and 2012 (when it rained so hard we didn't even start) 2013 was a dry, warm (but predictably blustery) day
