2. FOOTBALL offers the world clichés; RUGBY produces facial deformity; HOCKEY provides an acceptable outlet for psychotic violence; CRICKET alone breeds myths... More quotes here.

C2K: Centurion
Rather random weather the week before saw Sunday dawn bright, humid and hot (as measured by the level of the sweat marks on my ancient sun hat it was "pretty hot but not a record"). As I know he will expect me to mention, Captain Paddlers won the toss and then put us into the field. We bowled pretty well, but frankly the Quokkas batted even better and deservedly hit a whopping total. Two of our drops were tricky C and Bs (and the other, a shelled sitter, didn't really make a difference.). The Teen wolf took a great catch though

I spent to tea interval simultaneously wondering what kind of devilish skill was required to so fundamentally alter the state of a sandwich so it resembled a moist dishrag and motivating Bilal by informing him that he too could aspire to my levels of skill in another 39 years, a topic on which he seemed fundamentally unimpressed whilst simultaneously listening very politely.

After tea, our openers collapsed in classic fashion, however cometh the hour, cometh the man and CK1 proceeded to carry his bat for unbeaten 112 including 3x6 and 15x4. As this is his second ton, I formally request his name is changed to C2K (I'll be here all week and am available for bookings). Good Tony ably supported him and also produced such a neat book that we didn't miss Pretty Boy at all.

As ever the Quokkas also beat us into second place in the nickname stakes, with Evil Dave, Satan, Egg and the Hairdresser and it was a game played in the usual very friendly fashion, with us all going to the pub after.
