I forgot to take a picture...
Gloomy and rather chilly, the pitch was a bit of a two bouncer with some staying low, the others bouncing rather high. Captain Paddlers set off at a cracking rate and was unlucky not to get a ton. Thereafter, much more sedate with a little cameo from the Rogman and his hamstring. The NBW were very short so YM and Daveski played for them, and of note, Daveski got three wickets, clean bowling both ExCGC and C2K.

After the usual, largely inedible, tea, the Salix attack set their attack phasers to "stun" and with a huge run chase wickets fell fairly regualrly. Some excellent fielding was of note, with Paddlers taking an excellent "leaping salmon" style one hander and ExCGC running out the lumbering YM with a direct hit, one of two run outs. And thus it was off to the pub.

Agree CK, top knock from the Skipper, plus the fact that his 1 handed catch was off my bowling it will also get some a big thumbs up from me! Well played Dave!

Let?s not understate or underappreciate the phenomenon that was The Paddler?s gale force of a knock:
  • a strike rate of 200;
  • a Salix century stand for the first wicket in what feels like a decade (with The Dozy One contributing a pacy 11); and
  • a short-lived (wet) dream on the sidelines of a string of first inning DNBs.
Nicely done, Skip.

Think I actually prefer the idea of classic album covers to illustrate match reports rather than stock photos of heavy-set gentlemen in whites...
