The eponymous St Anne
Normally I'm happy to write a report and a Salix victory (making it 3 on the bounce for the boys in pink and green) would just ice the cake. Sunday's game was a little different. The All Stars were 3 men down and not really able to offer much resistance to a fired up bowling attack. The tone was set when the opening bat left his second ball from Rog only to see it smack solidly into off-stump. At the other end Mr Grant bowled a testing spell getting bounce and movement and bowling straight through picking up 2 wickets for 5 runs. Everyone chipped in - Tuffers was turning it square, Stu bowling straight, CK bowling fast - and the result was a total well under the hundred. After tea, Dozy and Ex CGC opened the batting and a series of full tosses on leg stump allowed the ginger man to race to 50 (and lose about 5 balls in the adjacent thicket). In less than 10 overs we'd reached the target for an 8 wicket win.

This was a comprehensive victory - I'd like to acknowledge the spirit of the All Stars team, keeping going in the face of a bit of a drubbing. I hope things pick up for them and look forward to a more even contest next year.

GC left the following remarks on 30th June 2015

There can't be many bowling figures better than Granty's and Dillan's in Salix history. Also, blowing my own trumpet, 30 off an over must be close to a record.
