Metaphorically and literally the clouds gather
In our nearly 30 years, the raggle taggle band of Salixites have travelled the world (well, as far as Eastern Europe) in order to be flattened by teams that were younger, more talented, better looking, more charismatic and more skilful. This week though, we only had to travel as far as the Queen of the Suburbs to achieve this.

The weather leading up to the game was dismal and dreary and pretty much stayed like that all day, but the rain held off. I personally scraped about half a kilo of mud of my boots when i got home, but the pitch played very nicely. We last played the Old Priorians seven years ago, and many of the Salix team that got flattened in 2010 were present again and in many ways the game followed the same path. I think it might serve everyone's interests not to record a blow by blow account of the excellent batting and bowling but it was the most gentlemanly of games and both teams retired pleasantly to the Duke of Kent for a few after the game..

Despite several requests however, the Old P's haven't sent us the half of the score book they scored on an ipad, so the bowling figures have had to be guessed at.
