It's late. I'm old. and Maxie from the All Stars writes a better match report than me, (take a look here ) so here are the highlights. Cap'n Matt put us into bat first, it all went a bit slowly and Tinker and Fletch especially were a bit crap, but the dynamic duo from Yorkshire (yes, I realise that's an oxymoron), the two Andy's, put on more than 100 between them in a great display. Great batting indeed

We had tea and the sky went a bit black, just like a regular summer in fact

Then we bowled. In a brave new Captaining decision Matt put Andy Bush on from the wrong end for him. It was either that or he was cream crackered after his marathon innings but his bowling was just a a tad off. And Stevie sadly did not get a wicket. (but he made up for it with a great catch that saw him pound his way nearly 10 yards at a frantic run (I'm not making this up) to scoop it up

Chris K clean bowled a belter and Andy Rayner had just great figures. He can jet off to his hols in Skiathos as MOTM.

That just leaves Dave Henig and your truly who both bowled some awful rubbish but still got the wickets, and I guess we all feel for the batsmen who was cleaned bowled by one from Dave that was on its third bounce. But the score book tells no lies. We got 'em, and even if I did my standing in the Lurpak league no good by dropping a rather hard C and B, we were pretty dynamite in the field. And also, honorable mention to Tinker who played a blinder at wicket keeping (last time he had those gloves on, he confided, was 1981and I'd personally like to thank him for my second wicket)

And it just leaves the tale of how Maxie from St Anne's, coming in at 11, managed to run out his brother who had carried his bat for 68. There'll be some fun round the Allen household tonight. Nice game, and a nice new regular team to play. See you all next year
