A beautiful day, friendly opponents and an excellent tea from Mr. Spillane.  It all looked set to break our loosing streak.  Dream on, Director

Winning the toss, the Wanderers elected to bat first, and the very first ball was driven towards Ollie, who promptly dropped it.  And that set the tone for the innings, with Salix CC putting down no less than six (6)  VI, sex, catches, not including the one that I caught on its way towards a six and then fell into the bushes with the force of it (counts as an assist technically I understand),.  Still the target didn't look unreachable, however by 20 Overs we had only reached a miserable 37 runs, and that for two wickets.  A spirited last gasp stand by Andy Bush (36 no) and Dominic Guinness (26 not out) put us tantalizingly close, but seeing as they had come in with only 8 Overs to go and 90 runs needed, it was never on the cards.

On a collectors note, the Mighty Wanderers fielded no less than 3 Salix players: Dickie Winter who was Captaining them (and got 3 wickets for 23 runs), Steve Jacobs, who they borrowed and who hit Fletch for 4 (the shame of it!!)  and Clarkster, who turned up on the off chance and despite being bowled by Rob Bailey for a golden, proceeded to bowl very well and get 1 for 14 in 6 Overs

Still, a lovely day, great opponents, and just the usual Salix CC shambles.  C'est la vie, mes amis du Cricket.
